You can easily impress your companions at home and turn ordinary dinners into something special by learning how to bake a whole chicken.

Important Materials and Ingredients

Before you can proceed with this easy and simple method of cooking whole chicken, you need a number of important materials like meat thermometer, large roasting pan and microwave oven. For the ingredients, prepare at least a tablespoon of onion powder, a teaspoon of pepper as well as a teaspoon of salt. Likewise, bring in at least half stick of butter. More importantly, purchase fresh and good quality chicken as the main ingredient. Once you have these items available, simply proceed with the following steps.

Prepare the oven. Set it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Pre-heat it for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. While this is taking place, use cool water to wash the chicken. Because you are dealing with a whole chicken, never forget to take the giblets away from the meat. Once it is clean, get some paper towels and then use them to wipe the meat dry. Get the large roasting pan and put the meat inside.

Place the butter in a cup. Put it inside the microwave and then wait for it to melt completely. Pour at least 2/3 of the liquid butter over the whole chicken. After that, pour the remaining butter inside. Next, season the inner part of the chicken with onion powder, salt and pepper. Do the same thing to the outer parts of the chicken.

Put the roasting pan inside the pre-heated oven. Bake the dish for at least 1 to 1½ hours. Thereafter, stick the meat thermometer right onto the breast part in order to check the internal temperature of the chicken. If it reads 180 degrees, the meat is probably done. If not, cook the dish further until it reaches the appropriate temperature.

When the right doneness is achieved, take the chicken out of the oven. Allow it to cool down a little for about 15 to 20 minutes. After that, slice the chicken open and then cut into smaller pieces. Top the dish with small amounts of the pan drippings before serving. Enjoy the delightful taste and goodness of this simple but tasty baked whole chicken recipe.
