1 bay leaf

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

After an hour of soaking, rinse it and pat it dry. Take out a large heavy duty foil. Take out enough foil to wrap the whole beef brisket. 1/2 cup sweet pickle juice
1 regular size carrot
1/3 cup firm brown sugar, packed

Procedure

The first step on how to bake corned beef in spicy fashion is to wash your beef. Afterwards, place it in a large kettle and add boiling water. Add in your carrot, onion, celery, and spices. Cover the kettle and let it simmer from four to four and a half hours until the beef is tender.

Next, cool the beef and its broth. Put it in a roasting pan then score the fat layer with glaze. The glaze is made up of a combination of brown sugar and sweet pickle juice. Pour the rest of the pickle juice around the meat in the pan. Bake it for about an hour at 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Baste the beef from time to time as it cooks and then serve.
